ANUP5032 is a special protection chip developed by STMicroelectronics for the protection and control of various motors, especially brushless DC motors, AC synchronous motors, and relay motors. In addition, the chip can also be applied to motor drive control applications in power tools, household electrical appliances, medical equipment, industrial automation equipment, and the like.

The working principle of the ANUP5032 is based on the integrated current feed-forward and on-time control of its internal current limit loop. The current limit loop will monitor and detect the current level in the motor, and the on-time control will ensure that the motor is running within a predetermined range to avoid over-current and excessive power consumption. In addition, the chip also has a built-in temperature monitor which can protect the motor from overheating.
