AP393NG-U Linear – Comparators
The AP393NG-U is a type of linear comparator which is based on its CMOS technology, enabling low-current operation. It is a highly integrated device with a single low-voltage power supply and a common ground. In the comparison between two signals, the two comparators generate a “high” or a “low” output, depending on the state involved. The comparison between two signals can be either linear or constant. The linear characteristic of the comparison enables precision and accuracy to be achieved.The AP393NG-U is based on an open-loop design. This means that it is connected to an outside source and the output is derived from the input. The operation of the device is based on the sum of the inputs, which are measured and compared. If the sum is above a certain threshold, the output turns to “high”, and if the sum is below the threshold, the output turns to “low”. Once the comparison is made, the output will stay in the same state until the input signals change.The AP393NG-U also includes a load switch. The load switch is used to control the current draw of the device. When the switch is “open”, the load current is reduced and the device runs at a lower power rating. When the switch is “closed”, the load current is increased and the device runs at a higher power rating. The AP393NG-U allows for both single-ended and differential mode operation. In single-ended mode, the input signals are connected to the comparator A, while in differential mode all four inputs are connected to the two comparator channels.
