The AS1524-TD_EK_ST is an evaluation board designed for the AS1524 family of integrated analogue-to digital converters (ADCs). It includes two separate carriers: the AS10524-TD Evaluation Board and the AS1524-EK ST Evaluation Board. When used together, this system offers high resolution and versatility for analogue signal conversions.
As its name suggests, the AS1524-TD_EK_ST evaluation board enables the evaluation of the AS1524 analog-to-digital converter family devices. It provides an integrated platform for users to exercise and measure typical performance parameters such as linearity, noise, settling time, dynamic range, and temperature drift.
The AS1524-TD_EK_ST Evaluation Board is designed with a small footprint for easy portability. Its compact design allows for two PCBs to stacked together for a low-profile evaluation platform. The TD evaluation board is responsible for measuring different performance parameters, while the EK ST evaluation board performs the actual conversions.
The AS1524-TD_EK_ST Evaluation Board provides users with the ability to measure the entire performance range of the AS1524 family of devices with a single board. It supports single-ended and differential analog inputs, as well as single-ended and differential digital outputs. The comprehensive set of features and capabilities of this board provide users the ability to recognize its advantages in system design.
The AS1524-TD_EK_ST Evaluation Board supports advanced modulation schemes such as Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), Pulse Density Modulation (PDM) and Code Division Multiplexing (CDM). Its high resolution and high speed modulation allows the user to accurately assess system performance.
The AS1524-TD_EK_ST Evaluation Board is powered by a single +5 VDC power supply using the J2 and J3 power connectors. The special I/O lines for the evaluation board (denoted as ‘A’) provide a convenient means for connecting analog and digital input signals for single-ended and differential input ranges.The evaluation board’s analog input can be adjusted by the use of two screwdriver potentiometers.
The AS1524-TD_EK_ST Evaluation Board consists of the evaluation board itself, as well as a robust suite of evaluation software. The software package provides an easy to use graphical user interface (GUI) for easy setup and use of the board. The board also includes a powerful signal conditioning software for performing multiple signal processing tasks, such as data conversion, threshold detection, analog filter design and analog signal conditioning.
The AS1524-TD_EK_ST Evaluation Board works by converting an analog input signal into a digital output signal. The ADC uses an advanced multi-phase, sample-and-hold, and comparator design to accurately sample and hold the analog signal and convert it into a digital approximation.
