AT24C02A-10PI-2.7 is an 8-pin, 2K-bit, serial Electrically Erasable Programmable ROM (EEPROM) device. It belongs to the AT24C02A family and is manufactured by Atmel Inc. AT24C02A-10PI-2.7 works based on the integration of nonvolatile memory chip, power supply, and erasing and writing circuit. The device can operated in two modes, which are the I2C protocol and Clock/Data protocol. The I2C protocol used a two-line bus as the communication interface, while the Clock/Data protocol used a three-line bus as the communication interface. The device can also be addressed as one of up to four independent devices on the same I2C bus. This makes it simpler to utilize multiple devices on the same communication interface.
When powered, it uses a nonvolatile EEPROM circuitry to store data continuously. This is done by a process called self-write, which is derived from a charge-pump technique that maintains energy to the EEPROM cells by transferring charge from a capacitor onto the EEPROM cell gates. It provides longer data retention time, hence more reliable data storage capability, and allows the data stored to be altered dynamically.In addition to its wide operational temperature range, the AT24C02A-10PI-2.7 is equipped with advanced error detection and correction, which works by incorporating parity bit and Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) technology. This ensures data accuracy and data security.
