Working principle of AT24C02AN-10SC
AT24C02AN-10SC works on the principle of one-time programmable (OTP) and programmable-read-only memory (PROM). It is composed of a memory array of 128 bytes arranged in a 16x8 bit configuration. It is operated at 3.0 volts and programmed with a 12.5 kHz frequency. Its program and erase cycles are more than 1 million and its data retention is between 10 and 20 years.
The working of AT24C02AN-10SC is based on two-wire serial interface. In the two-wire communication, the device is first selected via the chip select pins. The communication begins with the master (Host controller or microcontroller) sending a start pulse that is received by the memory chip. The master then sends the device address followed by a write command or a read command.
When reading from the memory chip, the master sends out a Read command followed by the address of the memory location to be read. The memory chip then sends out the data at the memory location. For writing to the memory chip, the master sends out the Write command followed by the address of the memory location to be written to. Then the master sends out the data to be stored at the memory location.
AT24C02AN-10SC offers ultra-low power operation with a wide operating temperature range and reliable data retention. It is suitable for applications that require non-volatile memory, such as microcontrollers, smart cards, mobile phones, POS terminals, printers, and automotive industry.
