Working Principle

The AT28C17E-20JI is a static RAM with a CMOS nonvolatile memory. It is a 2K-bit device, organized as 128 locations of 16 bits each. Each location is also divided into two 8-bit registers, referred to as A0 and A1. Data is written into the RAM via serial input (Mode 0) or parallel input (Mode 1), and data is stored permanently in nonvolatile memory. Data is accessed by multiplexing address and data on a common bus.
