Working Principle

Then, write-enable (WE) is asserted low and the data is shifted into the register bits. Lastly, the end of the write cycle is signaled by the rising edge of the Clock (SCLK) pin.
Erasing data from the device is also done through the 3-wire serial interface, with the same control signals used for writing. However, the operation mode is different—the erase cycle requires additional bits of data sent on the SI pin.
Finally, data can be read from the device in serial or byte-wide modes, using the 3-wire serial interface. In the serial read mode, the data is serially shifted out on the serial Data Output (SO) line with the Clock (SCLK) pin controlling the timing. The same setup is used for the Byte-wide read operation, however the data-out is on eight successive clock edges instead of one.
