FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) are one of the most important and prolific types of embedded systems. FPGAs are used in a wide range of application fields such as in military and aerospace applications, automotive, medical, industrial automation and consumer electronics. The AT6010A-2AU is one of these FPGAs and it is an application specific/radius entry-level FPGA designed specifically for applications that require high levels of integration and fast processing.
The AT6010A-2AU contains an array of field programmable logic cells and blocks (FPLs) that can be programmed to the engineer or users specification, thus providing a very powerful and flexible solution to various chip level requirements. The AT6010A-2AU also provides a wide range of capabilities such as reconfigurability based on application requirements, bit slice processing which allows for simultaneous operations on multiple sets of data on a single chip, and complete control of clock frequency control for implementing high accuracy control of operations.

The AT6010A-2AU has a 32-bit macrocell, 256 kilobytes of embedded SRAM, and a 6.17 million system gate equivalent later. It also offers a wide range of communication interfaces such as I2C, SPI, Serial and JTAG. It was designed to be programmed with one of a number of tools like CADENCE Allegro, Design Compiler, HDL and Verilog.
The AT6010A-2AU is ideal for applications, such as automotive, robotic, industrial and medical systems, where flexibility and speed of operation are required. The AT6010A-2AU supports up to four custom interfaces, allowing for the integration of custom devices or for the incorporation of activities such as human machine interface (HMI).
