The AT86RF233-ZUS is a radio frequency (RF) transceiver IC. It is designed for low-power wireless applications and is capable of delivering excellent performance. The robust and reliable performance of the AT86RF233-ZUS is based on its low-power architecture featuring a 5.1 mA receive current and dynamic power control. The device has a flexible hardware interface allowing connection to various host microcontrollers, and supports SPI for effortless integration. It also supports both the standard IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee mesh networking standards. This makes it suitable for applications such as home or building automation, healthcare, intelligent appliances and asset tracking.
In addition to its high center frequency accuracy, the AT86RF233-ZUS has an integrated low-noise amplifier, providing greater sensitivity and longer range. The device also features an integrated receiver temperature sensor which can be used for temperature compensation, enabling better performance in temperature varying conditions. Moreover, the device supports Direct Mode, which allows the transceiver to communicate exactly as the IEEE 802.15.4 specification requires without the need for logic to control adaptive data rate or configure the device.
