Radio-frequency (RF) transceiver Integrated Circuits (ICs), also known as RF transceivers, can detect, receive, and transmit signals in the radio frequency range. AT86RF215IQ-ZUR is a new type of RF transceiver IC, consisting of low-power, 2.4 GHz high-speed transceiver and 16-bit Microcontroller (MCU) core. Created by Atmel, it is the ideal multi-radio wireless transceiver for connecting systems across different protocols and communication media.
AT86RF215IQ-ZUR has a wide range of applications, such as automotive systems, industrial automation, robotic systems, medical systems, smart home systems, agriculture systems, etc. It can easily fit various applications due to its versatility, high integration capability, and low cost. Furthermore, it is suitable for single-chip as well as multi-chip solutions and can be used in devices that require long-distance communication with low power consumption.
In terms of communication range, AT86RF215IQ-ZUR has a communication range up to 200m in open/ target environment with relatively low power spectrum. It also has the capability of adjusting power output according to application’s needs, thus optimizing the performance in terms of longer range and lower power consumption.
AT86RF215IQ-ZUR operates in the 2.4 GHz radio frequency range and utilizes a GFSK modulation technique for data communication. It communicates over the air via IEEE 802.15.4g and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocols, with 16-bit MCU core which is capable of executing Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) code and externally stored code simultaneously. Furthermore, it syncs to a Crystal Oscillators (XO) module with an operating frequency of 32MHz, or to an external clock signal with frequency up to 48MHz.
AT86RF215IQ-ZUR incorporates an innovative power management unit which can selectively switch between five power states (tx, rx, idle, sleep, and off) in order to conserve power and extend battery lifetime. By changing its power states, AT86RF215IQ-ZUR can effectively reduce its power consumption and thereby improve its efficiency. Moreover, it has an integrated wake-up timer, allowing the device to automatically transition from sleep to idle state or from idle to rx/tx state at specific timed intervals in order to conserve power.
AT86RF215IQ-ZUR is designed with two transceivers, using a common 9.5dBm transmit power amplifier which improves transmission sensitivity. Apart from that, it also includes an integrated signal processing system such as modulation circuit, filters, and SNIFF mode which is used for improving the receiver sensitivities.
Lastly, AT86RF215IQ-ZUR offers a wide range of benefits such as high communication rate of up to 40kbps, low energy consumption, high interference immunity, and low cost. With these features, AT86RF215IQ-ZUR is one of the most reliable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions for connecting any systems that require short-distance communication.
