It integrates many special purpose hardware peripherals and supports up to 64 KB of program memory. This makes it an excellent choice for embedded control applications such as motor control, robotics, sensor networks, and data acquisition. The ATMEGA168-20MU is a member of the AVR family of microcontrollers developed by Atmel. It is intended for use in low-power and cost-sensitive applications.
