Atmel\'s ATmega256RFR2-ZFR is a system-on-chip (SoC) RF transceiver IC that has a wide range of application field and its working principle. In particular, the ATmega256RFR2-ZFR is designed for applications using the 2.4GHz industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) band and its counterparts. Furthermore, the ATmega256RFR2-ZFR is the world\'s first SoC with both a 2.4GHz RF transceiver and a 2.4 GHz radio frequency (RF) microcontroller on a single chip.

The ATmega256RFR2-ZFR is based on the ATmega256RFR2-ZF, a first-generation microcontroller featuring an Arm Cortex-M4 processor core and a high speed RF transceiver.
