The ATS640BSM-1E is designed to provide exceptional accuracy and stability as well as low jitter and low power consumption. It has a frequency accuracy of ±1.0 ppm at 25°C over the temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and a total frequency stability of ±1.0 ppm per year at 25°C. The device also features “snap-in” mounting with the use of standard “polishing” of the board, suitable for reflow soldering.The ATS640BSM-1E is an ideal crystal for low power, real-time clock, microcontroller, and frequency sources applications. It is suitable for battery life, such as watches and other timekeeping devices, as well as for any miniature space-constrained applications. Other applications include automotive and avionic systems, measuring and controlling devices, and laboratory instruments.The ATS640BSM-1E works on the principle of settling the internal oscillator at a certain frequency. A signal voltage is applied to the quartz crystal and the inductive element of the oscillator acts as a loading element, allowing the crystal to resonate at its resonant frequency determined by it\'s design (size and shape) and when the signal is cycled, the crystal generates an oscillating output which is then used to measure time with extreme accuracy. The ATS640BSM-1E has a wide range of features that make it ideal for timekeeping applications, such as low power consumption, high temperature stability, and low jitter, as well as a ±1.0ppm frequency accuracy, ±1.0ppm/year total frequency stability, and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
