The ATxmega16E5-MU is an 8-bit low-power Microcontroller, designed for use in medical, industrial and consumer applications. It offers superior performance over regular 8-bit microcontrollers as it operates at 80MHz, has 256K bytes of flash program memory and 32K bytes of SRAM data memory. The reduced power consumption of the ATxmega16E5-MU is an added advantage for battery operated applications. The on-chip Low Voltage In-System Programming (LVP) technology allows the ATxmega16E5-MU to be programmed and updated in-system over the Serial Programming Interface (SPI).
The ATxmega16E5-MU features digital pulse width modulation (PWM) for high-speed pulse-width modulation (PWM) up to 32 channels. The PWM module in the ATxmega16E5-MU is used for controlling analog devices, like servo motors, speed control of motors, lighting dimmers and motor speed control. It also has 3-2-phase clock oscillators, 8-channel hardware-based interrupt capability and an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) with 16-bit resolution.
