The AUIPS1021R is a powerful and versatile power distribution switch designed to meet many technical challenges in the industrial, medical, automotive and aeronautical applications. With low power consumption, robust protection and control, and hot-swappable features, it can be used in a variety of applications ranging from programmable power supplies to current-controlled switching devices.The AUIPS1021R is ideal for applications requiring simultaneous high and low current switching, such as automated power supply design, DC/DC converters and battery chargers. It is also suitable for applications where open-drain current is desired such as electric motors, power-on-delay circuits, logic level conversion, etc. The AUIPS1021R also features surge protection, EMC protection, and thermal management.AUIPS1021R Working Principle
AUIPS1021R switches are based on an advanced capacitance-controlled metallic substrate switch. The integrated power switch technology delivers low-dropout voltage, low RDS(ON) , and fast switching times in the range from 10 nanoseconds to 50 microseconds.The AUIPS1021R can be configured to provide power switching enabled by a logic input, open-drain current, or direct control of the voltage supply. It offers low power consumption, and features built-in surge protection and thermal management. The switch is available in a wide range of configurations and voltage levels.The general operation of the AUIPS1021R involves the sensing of current and the manipulation of the equivalent capacitance in order to control the switch state. This is achieved by using a capacitance control circuit, which is sensitive to the applied voltage. As the voltage across the switch increases, the capacitance of the switch decreases, resulting in a larger current than would be available from a resistive load. This is achieved by the capacitance control circuit blocking the current when the switch is in the off position.The power switch also offers an advantage over mechanical switches in that its switching time is much faster, allowing for more efficient use of the power supply. Additionally, the AUIPS1021R has built-in fault protection that prevents it from turning on when a short circuit occurs or when the output voltage is too low.The AUIPS1021R is a general-purpose, low-cost solid-state power switch suitable for a wide range of applications.
