Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are some of the most popular capacitors used across a wide range of applications due to their relatively low cost and wide range of available capacitance values. They are cylindrical in shape and are constructed with two aluminum foils separated by a paper spacer which is soaked in an electrolytic solution. This solution acts as dielectric which increases the amount of charge that can be stored and also acts as a conductor to allow current to flow.

The AVS227M50G24B-F is one of these Aluminum electrolytic capacitors. It is a radial leaded capacitor with a diameter of 22mm and a height of 7.5mm.
