Working principle of B41693A7687Q9 aluminum electrolytic capacitor

Electrolytic capacitors are formed when an anode is immersed in an electrolyte and then covered with a paper (or similar) dielectric material. When an electric field is applied, due to the charging current and the pore liquid cohesion of the laminar material, a polarization layer is formed between the anode and the electrolyte. The electrolyte is used as cathode and connected to the wrapping aluminum foil, forming an electrolytic capacitor.

When electric field is applied, a certain quantity of electric charge is absorbed within the capacitor\'s component material. The aluminum anode and dielectric absorb positive charge and the electrolyte and aluminum cathode absorb negative charge. This causes the capacitor\'s voltage gap to narrow and the capacitor is charged. When the electric field is removed, the electric charges stored in the material will slowly dissipate.
