Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are made of two aluminum foils, which provide two ‘plates’ for electrical charge accumulation. An electrolyte ( usually a liquid) covers the surface of the aluminum electrodes. During the manufacturing process, a dielectric is deposited between the electrodes. It provides an electrical insulation layer to prevent electric current from being conducted between the plates. As the electric field applied across the plates increases, current flows between the plates, thus charging both plates. Several manufacturing processes are used to create aluminum electrolytic capacitors. Those include a titanizing process which forms a titanium dioxide dielectric layer on the electrode plates and a passivation process that improves the corrosion resistance of the electrolyte.

The B43255A2227M Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor is specifically designed for telecommunications applications, including xDSL modems (with subcarrier frequencies up to 30 MHz), voice-over-IP equipment, and high-speed data transmission systems. It is also suitable for a range of industrial applications, such as motor drives, audio equipment, and power supplies. The capacitor offers good electrical performance at all operating temperatures, with low ESR and high frequency stability in temperatures of -40oC to +105oC.
