Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are the most commonly used capacitors in circuit design. They are widely used in power, communication, automotive, aviation, medical and other electronic systems and products. Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, like all capacitors, are used to store electricity in circuits. The structure of aluminum electrolytic capacitors is composed of two metal electrodes, which are encapsulated in an electrolytic aluminum shell and filled with an electrolyte. The anode of the capacitor is aluminum foil with a large surface area and covered with porous oxide layer, while the cathode is aluminum foil painted with organic conductive film. The film and the oxide layer on the anode form a juxtaposed double layer electric field. When the capacitor is charged, the holes in the anode oxide layer move to the cathode and are inversely charged. Thus, the inner electric field is formed between the anode and the cathode. The formed electric field stores electric field energy.
