BA10393N application field and working principle
BA10393N is a Linear - Comparator type device for analog circuit applications. It provides fast comparison of two or more input signals, usually from analog or digital sources, and can be employed in various types of electronic circuitry such as digital-to-analog (D/A) converters, amplifiers and power supplies. The BA10393N is a linear device which operates over a wide frequency range and has excellent noise immunity. It uses a single voltage as its power supply, normally referenced to ground. This reference is often set to 0V typical. In terms of its working principle, the BA10393N compares its two input signals, which would typically be the reference and measured levels, to the amplifier stage. Upon comparison, the output of the ADA439 is provided as either a high logic level (1) or low logic level (0), depending on factors such as the difference between the two signals and the combination of positive and negative logic. The BA10393N is used for stepwise or ramp-like analog-to-digital (A/D) conversion. The device consists of two N-channel MOSFET switches, two current sources and two resistors which together make up the ‘A/D converter’ when connected to two sets of analog inputs. The two resolutions (1 bit or 2 bit) are selectable by the user. A conversion is initiated with the input of a pulse or logic level to ‘start’. The pulse or logic level first switches one of the two MOSFETs, followed by the switching of the second MOSFET at regular intervals after. The resulting pulses are then input to the comparator stage. At the comparator stage, the reference voltage is compared to the input voltage via two comparators, whose outputs are combined using a logical ‘AND’ gate. Upon comparison, a logic output – either ‘0’ or ‘1’ – is produced which is used for the conversion process to provide the output data. The BA10393N also combines an innovative converter and a logic detector to extend its range of application. The decoder module consists of two logic signals ‘X’ and ‘Y’ which are compared with the inputs applied to the converter. When the X and Y signals have a difference of either 0 or 1, the logic detector outputs a logic ‘1’, regardless of the input waveform. This provides an additional level of accuracy to the BA10393N’s conversion process, helping to ensure the accuracy of the output data. In conclusion, the BA10393N is a Linear - Comparator type device ideally suited for applications requiring fast comparison of two or more analog or digital signals.
