The reference circuit constrains the monitored output voltage to a predetermined value (within the device\'s operational range) while the comparator compares the monitored voltage to the pre-defined value. If the monitored voltage is outside the stipulated range, then the comparator output is latched and an alert is triggered indicating that the watched voltage is either too high or low outside the allowable threshold.
The device is capable of precision monitoring from as little as 2.5 volts up to 4.5 volts.
