The BD8966FVM-TR is a high-efficiency, low-cost pulse width modulation (PWM) controller designed for DC-DC switching regulators. The BD8966FVM-TR has an adjustable fixed frequency oscillator and uses a current mode control architecture to provide optimum performance with low output voltage ripple. This PWM controller is ideal for applications such as battery-powered equipment, notebook PCs, and other high-efficiency DC-DC applications.

The output voltage of the BD8966FVM-TR can be adjusted through an external divider network. An internal over-voltage protection circuit provides a power-on reset, keeping the output voltage in the safe range. A soft-start circuit allows a gradual startup, preventing overloading and dropping of the input voltage. A temperature compensated band gap reference is also included to ensure temperature stability under high temperature cycling.

The BD8966FVM-TR has internal control logic for fast switching currents to reduce switching losses.
