The BD9866GUL-E2 is a special purpose voltage regulator. It meets strict regulatory standards, providing exceptional performance and extensive features. It provides single-stage voltage regulation, with dual output voltage capability, with high precision and low ripple regulation. The BD9866GUL-E2 is designed for point of load (POL) power applications, primarily for small and medium power range. It can be used to power large FPGA, DSPs, ASICs, and other power management integrated circuits (PMICs). Up to 4 Analog Voltage Regulators (AVRs) can be connected in parallel to provide up to 14A of current for the application. The device is also capable of providing dual output operation (single-stage voltage regulation). In order to meet the application’s needs, the outputs are adjustable from 0.8V to 1.2V. The BD9866GUL-E2 also offers optional feature sets to support an additional 1V output voltage.
The BD9866GUL-E2 makes use of a multiphase dc/dc regulator architecture, utilizing the integrated MOSFETs with discrete current loops and the primary side Buck regulator to provide the output voltage regulation.
