Working Principle

The device operates under a 4-step charging cycle (also known as 4-stage charging) that is developed to optimize battery life and increase charging efficiency. Each stage is monitored by the integrated MSP(micro-controller) and communicated to the system through digital output pins.The first stage is pre-charge, where a low charging current is set to prolong battery life and enable fast charge.The second stage is rapid or fast charge, where current placed at the maximum value is set for a few minutes. During this stage, the voltage is monitored for any over-voltage condition. The third stage is constant voltage, where the voltage is set to the set-point and the current remains constant.Finally, the fourth stage is top-off, where the current is reduced to the set-point and the device enters a loop of short current pulses to assure that the battery is full. The whole cycle is done automatically by the MSP, and terminate after it\'s done or if there is an error. The device is also equipped with a safety timer and temperature monitoring to further protect against overcharging.
