The BQ24023EVM (evaluation module) is a power management integrated circuit (PMIC) created by Texas Instruments. Over-temperature protection monitors the temperature of the system and shuts down charging if the system temperature reaches a certain threshold. Voltage fault detection monitors the incoming and outgoing voltages and shuts down the system if the voltage exceeds a certain level. Finally, current limit detection monitors the charge current and shuts down the system if the current exceeds a certain level.
