Furthermore, the BQ24050EVM board’s output voltage selection can be adjusted between 4.25V to 16V, allowing customers to acquire detailed insight into their solution’s power system operation before committing to application implementation.The working principle of the BQ24050EVM board is based on the BQ24050 Family, a fully integrated 2-inch square, 40-V Li+ battery charger solution featuring a boost mode battery charger along with a high-speed transition mode. This architecture allows for a high input voltage range of 6V to 28V, with a maximum charge current of up to one amp and intelligent system monitoring and control features.The BQ24050 device includes an internal N-channel MOSFET designed to support a 1A maximum charge current and low thermal dissipation specially designed for consumer applications with up to 4V load. The gate driver used in the BQ24050 device is manufactured in a proprietary high-voltage process to ensure a superior level of performance over standard 5V/3V solutions. Furthermore, the BQ24050 device utilizes a low-side current sense amplifier to provide an extremely accurate current readout for use in battery charging and discharging.The FE algorithm used by the BQ24050 Family makes the component ideal for powering high-end battery powered applications. An integrated FET is capable of up to 1A current limit, and the temperature coefficient is adjustable for a wide range of battery types.
