One of the latest additions to the PMIC - Power Distribution Switches, Load Drivers range is the BTS6163DAUMA1. This unique module delivers improved reliability, flexibility, and efficiency for power management needs by providing two (2) self-powered, half-Aduplex Load Drivers. It is capable of supplying a significantly higher voltage output than similar power management ICs, and requires ground referenced synchronized half-Aduplex communication protocol.
The BTS6163DAUMA1 is designed for applications where ground referenced, synchronized half-Aduplex communication protocol is an essential requirement, such as Automotive Body Control Units (BCUs), Infotainment/AV/HVAC, Surround View Camera/Environmental Control/Lighting, Powertrain Management/Battery Management, Industrial Automation/Smart Home/Solar Monitoring, and Wearables/Medical Devices. It is constructed with a basic digital control interface consisting of 4-bit digital control, digital connection to power line monitor, impedance matching, and priority control.
The core of the BTS6163DAUMA1 is an adaptive release time (ART) profile, which can be configured through the digital control interface to achieve specific protected and protected profiles. ART speeds system design and power optimization, allowing users to customize load drive output to meet their system’s needs while also achieving higher reliability. Furthermore, the Dynamic Voltage Drop (DVD) topology of the BTS6163DAUMA1 further maximizes the available power and extends the operational lifetime of each device.
In terms of efficiency, the BTS6163DAUMA1 provides improved heat dissipation due to its superior MOSFET structure and integrated thermal shutoff protection.
