BTS707 is a TrenchSTOP series integrated semiconductor device from Infineon Technologies. It is designed for automotive specific applications such as direct and repetitive load switching, linear applications and power distribution switches. This ensures reliable operation in situations where transients and high ESD levels are experienced. It’s small size, low power consumption and high operating temperature range, make BTS707 an ideal solution for automotive and industrial applications needing reliable and robust power control.BTS707 Working Principle: The BTS707 operates through a combination of On-Off switching and linear control of the load. The device contains a low side P-channel MOSFET and an N-channel MOSFET, giving it a strong Current Mode feature for enhanced performance and efficiency.In the “off” state, the P-channel MOSFET is off, allowing the N-channel MOSFET to become an open switch with no current passing through it. When the input signal triggers the devices On/Off command, the P-channel MOSFET will turn on. This will enable the N-channel MOSFET to pass current through the load.The linear control of the BTS707 is controlled using two different methods. The device utilizes a logic level input, allowing the user to rapidly switch the devices On/Off state. The second method is through an analog input, which is used to set the linear current level.For maximal current switching, the device has integrated protection logic. This is designed to protect the device from over temperature or over current, which can be caused by inappropriate settings.
