BZT03C200-TAP working principle is that a reverse-biased diode is in use and connected in parallel to the system or component to be protected.When an overvoltage transient surge comes, the electric field in the diode junction exceeds the breakdown voltage, and the excessive current passes through the diode, which is eventually limited by the respective on-state resistances .
The working of the BZT03C200-TAP is as follows. The BZT03C200-TAP is designed to clamp the amplitude of the overvoltage transient to a specified less-than-dangerous voltage by very quickly conducting a large current when triggered.It is capable of limiting the amplitude of a transient to a value that will not damage the protected device or components, as well as reducing the time duration of the transient.
Once the overload has been dissipated and the excessive current has been drained away, the diode returns to its open-circuit state, allowing the normal power to be restored to the protected device or component.
