TVS – diodes provide electronic systems with protection against electrical transients. Many transient suppressors feature high speed, low voltage designs that provide superior protection for a wide variety of common electrical transients, with different transients types requiring different levels of protection. The BZT03D160-TAP is a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronic systems against transient overvoltage of a variety of origins. This particular diode has a robust 160V standoff voltage (VBR) for high performance protection against electrical surges and transients.

The BZT03D160-TAP is specifically designed for applications where there are high energy, very low energy density pulses from lightning or electromagnetic interference. In order to provide the most effective protection from such transients, the range of protective components must include a low mobility product, allowing it to resist any pulse that is of sufficiently low energy density that would be beyond the reach of many conventional products.
