Working Principle of BZW03C10-TAP
The BZW03C10-TAP works on the principle of Zener breakdown. Zener diode is an ordinary diode which is revers biased, with a reverse-bias voltage greater than the breakdown voltage. In this state, the electric field applied to the junction breaks down. As a result, the electrons cross the junction in huge numbers, leading to current flow. The magnitude of the applied voltage is kept constant. This causes the output voltage to remain constant even if the input voltage drops or rises. Hence, the system is stabilized using a Zener diode, as the voltage across the output remains constant.
The BZW03C10-TAP can be used in low power applications such as on-board microprocessors, automotive voltage regulation and battery operated circuit applications. It is available in the following packages: SOT23, TO-236AB, SC43, SOT343, SC70-5, SC79, SOT323-6, SC-59, SOT428 and SC-76. It has a nominal breakdown voltage of 10 V and a maximum DC power dissipation of 500mW.
