The BZW03C160-TAP is a Zener single diode with a moderately low reverse leakage current, which belongs to a series of general-purpose silicon diodes. It uses planar technology for construction and is hermetically sealed with a glass passivation layer, epoxy resin being used as the sealing material. The device features a dynamic impedance of 10.8Ω at 3A, 0.5A and can operate in temperatures between -65°C and +175°C. The BZW03C160-TAP is widely used in various applications, such as reverse power protection, polarity protection, EMI suppression, free wheeling, switching and voltage clamping devices. The device works on the principle of a diode-controlled current and voltage source, with a fixed reverse current. In general, the maximum reverse current of an ideal diode is determined by its junction voltage. When the reverse voltage is higher than this voltage, the diode\'s reverse current increases and reaches its maximum value, known as the Zener Breakdown Voltage.
