BZW03D220-TR is a single zener diode ideal for applications in user-space-limited designs such as mobile phones, digital cameras, hard disk drives and other consumer electronics. The diode has a total power dissipation of 220mW and features a low voltage drop of 1.3V at 25mA. The diode’s low forward voltage drop of 0.7V at 25mA allows for excellent efficiency. The diode can be used as a voltage reference or protection circuit in consumer electronics.
Application Field

Working Principle
Zener diodes operate slightly differently than a normal diode. The Zener diode is so named because of the characteristic voltage control when the reverse current flows through the diode.
The BZW03D220-TR works by allowing a low current to pass through the diode when forward voltage is applied and then maintaining a constant voltage when the reverse voltage increases. This constant voltage, or zener voltage, is determined by the characteristics of the diode.
