Working Principle: BZW04P20BHE3/54 TVS-diodes work on the principle of avalanche breakdown. This process happens when enough electric field force is applied to a reverse biased diode, leading to conduction in the low impedance state. This is known as the avalanche effect, which is used in these protection circuits. It allows the diode to clamp the transient voltage to a safe level. The device can also clamp a surge with higher clamping voltage capability. The device\'s low capacitance of 15pF, in addition to the low, load current, makes it ideal for high frequency surge protection applications.
