It features a low operating voltage and reverse breakdown voltage, making it suitable for high-density printed circuit boards.A TVS diode typically consists of three main components: a control element, an avalanche breakdown element, and a current clamp. The control element is usually comprised of a bipolar transistor or a MOSFET, while the avalanche breakdown element is usually a Zener diode, which triggers the clamping action of the TVS diode. The current clamp helps to control current flow and reduce electrical disturbances and overvoltages in the device or circuit.BZW06-40 R0G diode utilizes a Controlled Avalanche Diode (CAD) structure, which consists of two separate Zener diodes connected in series for extra protection against transient surges. The CAD provides enhanced protection in comparison to a ZLN diode. It utilizes a dual Zener diode array for improved performance under repetitive surge and EOS conditions, such as electrostatic discharge (ESD).In operation, the BZW06-40 R0G responds rapidly to transient overvoltage conditions. At normal operation, the diode remains in its forward-biased “on” cycle state, until the voltage across it increases to its specified breakdown voltage. When this occurs, the diode diverts the surge current away from the device or circuit and clamps the voltage to a safe level.The BZW06-40 R0G also has the capability to reset itself once the transient voltage has dissipated.
