Littelfuse’s CD214A-T150ALF TVS diode is a multi-channel bidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) that features a built-in metal oxide silicon (MOS) diode structure, designed to provide surge protection against both ESD and lightning strikes.

CD214A-T150ALF offers a working peak power of 150W for an operating voltage of 10–33V. It is an active component from the Unidirectional Transient Voltage Suppressors (TVS) portfolio of Littelfuse. It has high peak pulse power (Ppp) with a low dynamic resistance, excellent clamping capability, and fast response time.

CD214A-T150ALF TVS diode mainly consists of a PN junction built of two semiconductors. In the presence of a voltage exceeding the rated voltage, the PN junction generates an internal electric field. This increases the forward current of the diode and as a result, the voltage spike is suppressed. In this way, the device provides ESD protection, eliminating damages to connected devices.

CD214A-T150ALF TVS diode is widely used in a variety of applications requiring higher clamping voltages and large current handling capabilities. It is used to protect an array of electronic components such as digital signal processors, optical networks, power control units, communication systems, and safety circuits, in automotive, industrial, and consumer applications. Due to its small size and excellent thermal performance, it is also used in space-constrained applications.

It has a low leakage current of 1μA at 12 Volts and an operating temperature range of -55°C to +150°C. The device is available in various forms, including the surface mount, SMD, as well as the through-hole package configurations. The device also supports high humidity and moisture to a certain extent.

CD214A-T150ALF TVS diode is designed to efficiently protect vital electronic circuits from inrush current, electromechanical transients, and differential mode failures, while allowing exceptions or ground potential shifting within 2.5V (max). The device also helps reduce common mode noise on sensitive communication and control lines, making it an ideal solution for many kinds of protection applications.
