Application Field

Working Principle

CD4033BE is composed of four individual stages, each having two types of outputs to provide a variety of data: a high output and a low output. There is also an enable pin on each stage, which comes in handy when users want to disable one or more counter stages and make the division ratio piecemeal. Normally, a clock signal is applied to the Clock Input pin i.e. the first stage and each succeeding counter stage re-clocks the same signal with a prescribed division. When the enable pins are connected to a low logic level, the operation stops and the counter is held in its present state.

If either the High Output or Low Output of one stage is connected to the Clock Input of the following stage, the CD4033BE can be used in several ways such as a Frequency Divider, Modulo N Counter, etc. In addition, the long-term reliability of CD4033BE makes it a good choice for harsh industrial conditions, as it prevents unintentional interference or unwanted reset.
