The CD4060BE is a CMOS programmable counter/divider IC with 14 addressable stages. It is a type of IC (Integrated Circuit) typically used in industrial or home automation applications. The CD4060BE can also be programmed electronically, providing an advantage of being able to program it remotely or via a computer or microcontroller. In this type of programming mode, the device can be programmed to act either as a counter or divider and can be used to implement a wide variety of functions. For example, the device can be programmed to count up or down a set number of pulses; it can also be programmed to be data converters, time/frequency division multiplexers, and as a pulse width modulator.
