CD4520BE Application Field and Working PrincipleCD4520BE is a bipolar monolithic integrated circuit that is provided in 16-pin dual in line plastic packages and is widely used for both logic applications and devices. The CD4520BE can be used for many different devices, including analog-to-digital converters, controllers, digital signal processors, embedded processors, counters, dividers, and other logic applications.The CD4520BE features two 16-bit counter sections, three divide-by-N stages, an edge-detecting gate and a programmable logic function, providing a single-chip solution for many logic applications. The counters are designed with maximum flexibility, allowing the counters to be reset at any binary count and for count sequences to be changed on the fly. The divide-by-N stages can be individually programmed for counting sequences ranging from 2 to 16 bits wide.The CD4520BE includes a programmable logic section which allows the user to create customized logic functions. The logic section contains three product-term cells and two OR-gates, allowing the user to implement any combination of two-input product-term functions with two levels of ORing. This makes it easy to create logic functions with any combination of two-input functions.The edge-detecting gate is designed to detect whether the inputs to the counter change from logic high to logic low or logic low to logic high. This feature allows the CD4520BE to be used in applications where the edge of a signal is being monitored, such as in a clock signal.The CD4520BE can be used in a variety of applications, such as counters, dividers, and logic functions.
