The CD74ACT257EG4 is a high speed CMOS under the family of devices called 8-Bit Data Selectors/Multiplexers. The device properties give it the ability to operate at rates up to 70MHz and the ability to integrate with other complementary devices to create a simple 8-Bit multiplexer user system. As the world becomes faster and more data hungry, the ability to multiplex multiple data sources to a single interface is increasingly critical. The ACT257 operates off a single positive supply voltage between the range of +2 V to +6 V, with power consumption of 3.2 mW typical. The logic thresholds are VIL and VIH, set to 0.8V and 2.0V, respectively. It is possible to obtain data transfer rates of up to 200 Mbps by using the ACT257. The propagation delay is typically only 3 ns. The ACT257 is available in a 16-pin package and is pin and function compatible with the 74LS257.
The ACT257 includes four 8-input multiplexers with two select inputs and one output, the /OE pin, provide support for the expansion of the data bus.
