CDBER70 Application Field and Working Principle

The CDBER70 is a dual common-cathode Schottky barrier diode rectifier featuring ultra-low forward voltage drop and high surge current capability making it ideal for energy-saving and low-loss power-supply designs. It offers ultra-low forward voltage drop and is capable of delivering common-mode transient immunity up to 25 kV/μs. It also has a leakage current of 1 nA max. and can easily handle up to 16 A peak current.

Working Principle

CDBER70 is a Schottky barrier rectifier, which works based on the Schottky principle. As a result, there is no recombination, allowing the electrons to remain as low resistance carriers. This results in low forward voltage drop and fast switching speeds.

The device features two common cathodes, which are connected directly to the positive terminal of the external supply. When positive voltage is applied to the anode of the diode, current flows freely through the diode and a low forward voltage is obtained.
