Introduction

CDLL4739A is a type of single Zener diode. It is small in size and suitable for making circuits with miniature layers.

Working Principle

CDLL4739A diodes operate on the principle of potential difference. When the circuit has an excess of electrons, these gathers around the Zener barrier layer of the diode, and inhibit their flow inwards. This creates a reverse current, which sets up an electric field between the Anode and Cathode. This electric field prevents the flow of electrons from the Anode to the Cathode. This behavior is due to the Zener barrier layer having a negative potential, which is higher than the Anode and Cathode potential.

In situations where the Anode and Cathode potential is higher than the Zener barrier potential, the electrons are able to flow through the layer, thus acting as a normal diode. This allows for quick control of the flow of electricity in the circuit.
