CDLL5534A Application Field and Working Principle

CDLL5534A is a Zener diode, which is manufactured by advanced planar technique and effective 2~layer metal mask process. The working principle of this device is like the common Zener diode, where the electrons are released from the Zener junction in one direction, resulting in electric current flows in the opposite direction of the applied electric field.

This electron flow creates an opposing reverse-bias electric field and causes the diode’s current to begin to flow in the reverse direction. This current is referred to as the Zener Current.

The Zener current is limited by the reverse-bias electric field. As the voltage across the Zener diode increases, the magnitude of the electric field increases, resulting in a decrease in the Zener current. This relationship is referred to as the Zener Breakdown Voltage.

The CDLL5534A offers an impressive maximum current of 2A with a reverse voltage range of 2V to 12V and a resistance of 8.5 ohms in the reverse direction. Its maximum surge current is rated at 6A. The peak reverse power and stored energy ratings are 0.25W and 25mJ respectively.
