Working Principle

The working principle of the CDLL756 is based on the PN junction of the diode. The PN junction of the diode is formed by joining a semiconductor material in the form of n-type and p-type. When the voltage across the diode is low, the current through the device is very small, but as the applied voltage increases, the current through the device increases.

The Zener diode works on the principle of breakdown voltage. When a voltage is applied across the diode, the electrons in the n-type material tends to drift towards the holes in the p-type material, creating a high density of electrons at the PN junction. This high electron density creates a voltage that opposes the applied voltage, and this voltage is called the breakdown voltage. When the applied voltage exceeds the breakdown voltage of the diode, the current through the device increases exponentially.

The main disadvantage of the CDLL756 is that it is limited by the static voltage drop which can cause the power supply to become unstable and cause the system to malfunction. In addition, the power supply must be properly designed and maintain in order to ensure the device works correctly.
