Working Principle

The flow of electrons occurs when a current is applied to the diode, causing it to form a low-resistance path between the anode and the cathode. This allows the diode to convert the AC input signal into a DC output, keeping the current flow consistent in one direction. When the AC signal reverses its polarity, the diode turns off, preventing the flow of electrons through the diode in both directions and supplying a steady DC output voltage. This process is known as rectification.
