Working principle:

When there is an ESD surge on a PCB, the CG0603MLA-5.5ME will detect the surge current by utilizing its high-dielectric circuit to absorb the energy from the surge and divert it away from the PCB. Then that energy creates a magnetic field level and induces a voltage across two soldered terminals on the circuit board to help protect the board and the components from the overvoltage surge. When the surge is dissipated, the device will return to its normal state.
