CG110L

Gas discharge tube arresters (GDT) are used to protect electronic systems, such as cellular telephone base stations, telecommunications equipment, or other components, from the deleterious effects of transient overvoltages. The CG110L is a type of GDT arrester, designed for the highest levels of voltage protection.

The CG110L is a metal oxide varistor (MOV) based arrester. It is constructed of a zinc oxide ceramic surge arrester and two metal oxide varistors, connected in series. The MOVs limit the maximum voltage that is allowed to be passed to the rest of the system. This means that there is a much smaller voltage seen across the arrester than would be seen without it.
