The CGS162U150R2L is a radial-lead, snap-in-style, aluminum electrolytic capacitor with an operable temperature range of -55°C to +105°C. This capacitor is designed for many applications, such as power supply filtering and decoupling, in motor systems, and other general-purpose uses. It features extended life, long-term reliability, and high-temperature operation.The CGS162U150R2L has a working principle based on the behavior of electric charge. This capacitor consists of two metal plates (electrodes) that are separated by a dielectric material known as electrolyte. An electrical voltage is applied across the electrodes, causing an accumulation of electric charge on both plates. The capacitor thus has a charge buildup and the electric field between the two plates produces an electric field.The dielectric material between the plates can be composed of aluminum (aluminumoxide), paper, or glass. The ions form a barrier that blocks further movement of electrons, resulting in a buildup of electric charge that stores energy and is known as capacitance. This gives the capacitor the ability to store and release energy quickly.
