CJRWWH stands for Converging Jet Retarder Waveguide Horn. It is a type of waveguide-type antenna that is widely used in a variety of applications such as radiocommunications, mobile communications, satellite communications, high-speed data links and also in microwave and millimeter radio astronomy. CJRWWH has gained wide acceptance due to the advantages it offers over other waveguide-type antennas.
In general, waveguide-type antennas are characterized by their ability to transmit and receive radio waves in strongly focused beams. This focused beam of energy is referred to as a “beamwidth” and can be much narrower than that of a standard omnidirectional antenna. The CJRWWH is particularly advantageous in this regard, as its beamwidth is typically 10° or narrower for radii in the sub-meter range.
The CJRWWH antenna is essentially a collection of waveguides arranged in a circular formation with a central axis. These waveguides are connected together at their outer ends and the central axis of the antenna acts as the central element of the waveguide system. With this type of antenna, the waveguides are arranged in a converging arrangement, which causes the energy radiated from them to combine into one focused beam. This gives the CJRWWH a signal gain of around 40dB, which is quite good for a waveguide-type antenna.
The working principle of the CJRWWH antenna is based on the principle of waveguide propagation. Basically, when energy passes through a waveguide, the wavefront of the energy is compressed, making the signal direction more focused and improving its range. In the case of the CJRWWH, the waveguide elements combine to form a parabolic antenna with an exceptionally focused beamwidth. As the energy passes through the waveguide elements, it is compressed and focused, increasing its range and efficiency. Additionally, the radiation pattern of the CJRWWH is highly directive, meaning that it maintains a good directional signal even at relatively long distances.
CJRWWH antennas can be used in a variety of applications, such as satellite communications, cellular communications, and radio astronomy. Their highly directional signal is particularly advantageous when transmitting signals over long distances or through difficult environments. Due to their directional signal, they are also highly resistant to interference from other sources. Additionally, the antenna’s excellent gain makes it highly effective in applications such as deep-space communications.
The CJRWWH is an extremely versatile antenna that can be deployed in a variety of applications. Its directional beamwidth and excellent gain make it suitable for a wide range of applications, including satellite communications, microwave and millimeter radio astronomy, and cellular communications. Additionally, its resistance to interference and its directional signal make it ideal for applications such as deep-space communications and for applications where a highly directional signal is required.
