Working principle

The CMR3U-04M BK diode rectifier is a single diode structure that provides rectifying and protection in the form of a forward voltage drop across the diode. The diode\'s structure consists of two layers of semiconductor material, one p-type and one n-type, sandwiched between two metal electrodes. When the forward bias voltage is applied, electrons from the n-type layer move to the p-type layer and leave behind a gap, causing a large electric field between the layers. This electric field drastically reduces the resistance of the diode. As a result, current flow is enabled and the voltage drop across the diode is relatively low compared to other types of diodes.
